## October 8: A Private Conversation with Dr. Michael H. Morris

**LinkedIn / Facebook (long)**
On Thursday, October 8, Shoulders of Giants hosts a private lunch conversation with Dr. Michael H. Morris, founder of the Urban Poverty and Business Initiative at Notre Dame and director of On Ramp at Seattle University. Mike Flynn, longtime publisher of the Puget Sound Business Journal, leads the interview. Peter Rowan and Janie Ng of Seattle University's Albers School of Business join us in the room.

This is not a keynote repeated in another city. The work Dr. Morris pioneered is running in Seattle right now, in real neighborhoods, with real people building real businesses. Seats are limited and lunch is included at World Trade Center Seattle.

## November 12: A Private Lunch with Brett Sibert

**LinkedIn / Facebook (long)**
Brett Sibert is responsible for eight thousand people. Two hundred and twenty restaurants across six states, the largest Yum! Brands franchise in Washington, and a payroll that has to clear every other week without fail. Many of those eight thousand were hired with no resume, no degree and nobody to vouch for them.

On Thursday, November 12, he sits down with Emmy Award winning journalist Jaime Mendez at World Trade Center Seattle, Pier 66, to talk about what that responsibility actually costs, and about who takes a chance on a person before anyone else will. Every dollar raised goes to the Amistad Fund at Seattle Amistad School.

Hi {{first_name}},

Shoulders of Giants has a new home this fall: World Trade Center Seattle. Two private lunches, two Giants, and the same rule as always. No panels, no pitches, one real conversation.

**Thursday, October 8, 11:30 AM.** A Private Conversation with Dr. Michael H. Morris, interviewed by Mike Flynn. Dr. Morris built the model that treats business formation as a pathway out of poverty, and it now runs in Seattle as On Ramp at Seattle University. Peter Rowan and Janie Ng join us from Albers.

**Thursday, November 12, 11:30 AM.** A Private Lunch with Brett Sibert, in dialogue with Jaime Mendez. Brett leads 220 restaurants and eight thousand people, and he chose a school of 148 children on Capitol Hill as the beneficiary. Every dollar goes to the Amistad Fund.

Seats are $55 with lunch included, and each room is small.
